Coming Soon 2014
In the many years that the Palau Post Office has been in operation, it has gradually made its way to modernize its facility and equipment to match the growing need for integration and finding opportunities to optimize its services.
And under the Remengesau administration, two major updates have already been implemented. The First major update was the addition of USPS scanners, which now allowed customers to track the progress of their outgoing packages via the USPS website. Then there was the Post Office Information that was recently implemented.
But the push for progress is still ongoing. Below you will find some of the major updates that the Post Office will be moving to implement.
Upcoming Stamps
The Post Office will be releasing more stamps in the near future and announcements for these stamps will be found here.
Post Office Label Printer
In a continued joint effort with the USPS, the Palau Post Office will soon be receiving and implementing a Manual-Scan-Where-You-Band printing system to label postal bags. These scan-ready labels will allow carriers to directly transfer the sacks to transit without additional processing, effectively reducing the wait times for incoming and outgoing mail.
Road Names and Babeldaob Postal Services
Currently pending in legislation, a bill to name all roads in Palau may soon come to pass. Naming all streets and assigning addresses will provide an effective means of location, crucial for emergency and law enforcement response times, as well as allow visitors to easily navigate the roads without having to know specific houses and which trees to turn at.
On top of the road names and addresses, the Palau Post Office plans to implement home delivery to home mailboxes, and also extend its postal services to Babeldaob.
